I am a frequent traveller on the N1 North, exiting at the off-ramp heading towards Maraisburg. This off-ramp has a 3-way split consisting of a left turn lane, right turn lane and a centre lane that facilitates a left turn, right turn or straight back onto the highway.
What irks me are the absolutely ignorant, impatient drivers that believe they are exempt from standing in the queue and being in the correct lane. You don’t know how many near misses have occurred at this intersection because people forget the rules. Left turn means exactly that. Right turn lane is for exactly that.
Where is the JMPD when they are needed to control the traffic? What makes matters worse, is the fact that the traffic light has been out of order for the past three weeks already.
How many near misses will it take before JMPD are deployed in the afternoons? How do we get them there? Even your big trucks are now doing this in order to get through the intersection first! Please help us?
