My husband and I visited the Roodepoort Police station recently and were simply bowled over at their friendliness – from help with the parking (and nobody waiting for a hand-out; just smiles and waves) to directing us to the correct office.
We only had to have our affidavit signed and stamped, and, even though there was a queue, we were directed inside to the disabled area and were attended to and cleared within 10 minutes. All this was done with friendliness.
All the people assisting behind the counter was doing so with a lot of smiles and a positive attitude. The ones waiting to be served, were also doing so with patience, and the fact that the room was airy and clean also contributed to the people’s positive feelings.
Our congratulations and thanks to the station commander, or whoever is in charge; we just wanted to say “Keep up the good work. It’s not all doom and gloom as there are lots and lots of pockets of sunshine if you look for them.”
