Visitors infringing on resident’s rights

Sandra from Florida writes:

I recently moved in with my daughter due to a change of job, and because it would be easier to travel to my place of employment.

We reside opposite Florida Lake, where weekends don’t mean a rest period for those employed. The reason is that visitors to the lake park their cars, some braai, and most consume alcohol while playing their music at high volumes. Each vehicle seems to be playing it’s own music, so it’s just a noise to the residents.

Our babies, children and our rest time have been taken away by people who are mostly not from Florida. Why must the residents residing opposite the lake be affected by this noisy drunken invasion? Surely Jo’burg Parks should consider residents and disallow visitors to the lake from disturbing the peace?

I have also observed that the only time the JMPD appears is at about 6pm, to nag people to leave. This process involves practically constant sirens going off to chase people away.

Then there’s the mess that people leave the place in. It’s absolutely disgusting. These are adult persons having no consideration for other people or the environment.

This is an infringement for lake residence, unhealthy sight for our children and a disregard for the environment.

I have even advise my daughter that it would be in her best interest to rather move from this area.

I think it is so unfair that residents living opposite the lake should be subjected to this infringement.
