We still have a lot to offer

As another active female looking for work, I am glad that I am not alone in this situation.

I am 50+ and looking for work. It is disheartening when we – as job seekers – send out countless CVs and not only do not get the job, but hear nothing in response to our applications.

We might be older than the majority of job seekers, but we have between 30 and 40 years’ work experience, and have a lot of experience to bring to the workplace.

I have been advised to open my own business, which is not a viable option, so am dependent on being offered work.

Please do not write us older people off as we have a lot to offer.

We are seeking work out of necessity, not choice, and would really appreciate the opportunity to be employed and feel useful within the workplace and society.

If there are others in the same situation, please contact us through the paper.
