I totally agree with ‘Disgusted senior citizen from Witpoortjie Retirement Village‘.
I stay in Weltevreden Park and it was like a war zone. Fireworks were set off even before the New Year and in the early hours of the morning. It seems to me the louder the bang the better. Where are the evenings of fireworks with a colourful display without the noise.
I have a African Grey parrot named Molly that I sedate when I know there is a possibility of fireworks being discharged just to calm her. I battled to get her to take the tablet, which I put into a piece of cheese. I still keep her close just to make her feel more secure.
I would gladly put a big-bang cracker right up the culprits’ area where the sun does not shine and is never to shine again. Please consider others such as the elderly, young children, babies, pets, wildlife and especially birds that are the forced to fly around in the dark terrified and then injure themselves due to the stupidity or selfishness of some idiot.
Think of others before yourself. We all like to live in a safe and noise-free area.
