A four-way stop would alleviate dangers

Leslie-Ann James from Helderkruin writes:

This is something I feel very strongly about.

Some time ago I sent you a letter regarding this, which was published, and it read as follows:

“I am sure it is the concern of a lot of residents in the Helderkruin area that there is no four-way stop at the corner of Banket and Crouse Drives in Helderkruin.

Coming down Crouse Drive it is so difficult to cross Banket Drive and go into Galena Avenue because of the build-up of traffic coming in from the left from Laerskool Helderkruin, as well as commuters using Banket Road from the right travelling up from Wilgerood Road, which in itself is a road where many accidents happen.

“It really is a struggle to get across this road and often when traffic builds up from the right in Banket Drive, one cannot see traffic coming from the left and this has the potential to cause terrible accidents, if it hasn’t already.

I am not sure who I can contact in this regard, but perhaps the local DA councillor could do something about it.”

Unfortunately the situation has not changed as yet and I am sure a lot of Helderkruin residents would agree that a four-way stop would definitely alleviate the danger of these roads.

Perhaps somebody might know of a person to contact at the roads department. I am willing to contact them myself if need be.
