We need you to fight back

J Kriel from Witpoortjie writes:

Come on Witpoortjie community, be it the residents, school management, church leaders, business owners or Witpoortjie Neighbourhood Watch committee, to name a few, why were you not at the Ward 71 Safe and Sound meeting arranged by our councillor, René Benjamin? Fifty confirmed attendance but only two of us were present.

We are all quick to cry about the scourge of violent robberies and hijackings that the Caxton staff report on weekly, like the shooting of Duncan du Plessis and Sabelo Kanyane who lost their lives unnecessarily to these heartless criminals and thugs.

To fight back we need you, the community’s support because the police, JMPD and security companies cannot be everywhere. We need to fill the gaps as an A Team, aka The Witpoortjie Community.

I therefore challenge you all to support the next Safe and Sound meeting.

Finally my heartfelt thanks to Councillor René, Dewald, Christel and other committee members of the Safe and Sound campaign for your dedication, commitment and hard work, plus the Witpoortjie Bowling Club for availing your hall for this great cause.
