We are delighted that the Executive Mayor of Johannesburg, councillor Herman Mashaba, has thrown his weight behind repairs of potholes and planned upgrades in Roodepoort.
However, we wonder what more can be done to get JRA to respond to queries that we reported to them about four weeks ago. Not only their department, as we also forwarded the complaints to the councillor of Ward 85. Our request to the JRA was emailed to him, and sadly, we are yet to receive acknowledgement of receipt of the request, let alone comments regarding the process to solve the problem.
This does not bode well for his reputation as an appointed councillor. Certain residents of Wilgeheuwel have nothing but praise for their councillor. They report that she (yes, they have a woman councillor) is a ball of fire! Complaints forwarded to her are solved within a satisfactory period of time. Evidently she has set up a resident’s WhatsApp group which is open to be joined at the resident’s discretion.
The other councillor that seems to be a ball of fire is Caleb Finn. There is no issue of the Record in which his activities are not mentioned. Well done, young man.
Why then the tardiness here in ward 85?
