Stop the revenge

Anonymous from Roodepoort writes:

What a sad day in the history of South Africa.

Fifty million plus people living here of which the majority love this country. We want to be reckoned with the best in the world. Our sports teams excel. Our artists are ranked high. Our produce is preferred. Our scenery is second to none. Yet, our own people are stabbing each other in the back in the name of patriotism.

When the ANC came into power it was accepted. Yes. Lots of complaints but they were left to do their jobs. Important message: The state serves the people. The state is paid by the people. The state and its employees are only there because of the people. And then the DA wins a few positions and all of a sudden power becomes more important than anything else!

People are all of a sudden the by-product. Everything has to be decided in court. No moral standards. And that comes right from the top. There is no idea or perception of wrong or right. Give the DA a chance to do their bit. If they fail, fair. But stop terrorising initiatives and a chance to help our town, our city and our country. There is no lower moral than the moral of injustice.

What happened before was very unfortunate but it’s in the past. Not forgotten but endured and now a lesson. Please, please stop the revenge. Stop the tit for tat. Think about our children. Our grandchildren. Our future. Please! What difference does it make to a homeless person or a beggar or a burn victim or an accident victim or a hungry person, whose name is on the ruling party’s letterhead?

Wake up! Cut the grass. Pave the sidewalk. Tar the road. Clean the water. Build the houses. Preserve our resources. What a lovely life lies ahead if we care for each other instead of our pockets and stomachs. Please stop being shortsighted. Be free. Free from outside influences with bad intentions. Let us all be free.

One can only be free in chains. That means rules and regulations and the enforcement thereof are paramount. Heed the call!
