City Power is dysfunctional

Sumari Davis from Roodepoort writes:

City Power installed a digital meter that I did not request about a month and a half ago at my premises. After the meter was installed, I had no electricity supply to my house. I contacted City Power and informed them of the problem. I received a reference number, my electricity was restored by employees from City Power and I believed the problem was solved. Shortly after a meter reader from City Power came past my home to collect the data on the new meter, he told me that my meter had been bypassed and that my power would be disconnected if I did not have the meter fixed.

I then started making several calls to City Power. In one of these calls, I was informed by the operator that he could not find my meter number in the system. I was told to go to the walk-in centre in Booysens. I was referred to their offices in the Civic Centre in Roodepoort as well. I had no success. At this point, my meter is still not functional and I have the threat of my electricity being cut off hanging over my head.
