Johannesburg City Council – same old, same old.
Traffic lights are still out for days on end. They were hardly ever out prior to 1994. If out, a Traffic Officer would be directing traffic. Traffic lights are also not synchronised (were partially synchronised) and the flashes are not working.
Road markings are not visible at night or in the rain, and there is still no progress with repairing potholes.
Metro Police remain ineffective because they cannot even direct traffic.
Is this the change we voted for? From bad to worse?
These are areas that can be addressed very easily, quickly and efficiently.

Michael Beaumont, Chief of Staff to the Executive Mayor responds:
The Executive Mayor, and his new administration, have served in office for a little over two months. The challenge faced is one where we have to turn around 22 years of administrations in the City that did not address service delivery matters effectively. The Mayor is fully aware of the challenges that continue to face the residents of the City on a daily basis. We are currently implementing plans to ensure that the service delivery matters of the City are fast-tracked so that residents experience a more caring and more responsive City. We are confident that our residents will see the difference of the new administration, and ask for their patience as we work to deliver the change they voted for.
