I would like to make people aware that not one of the headstones in the old Roodepoort Cemetery ever just “fell” down.
They were maliciously desecrated. Our parent’s headstone was pushed over, we put it back up, only to find it on a different grave a couple of days later. A stone that heavy definitely does not move itself.
In April of this year we eventually were able to contact Reggie Moloi of City Parks. His response, as
expected was, “City Parks is not responsible and can do nothing about it”.
He was warned that this seemed to be a deliberate plan in order to turn the Cemetery into a squatter camp. This is now happening.
Somebody needs to do something, and quickly, before this situation turns ugly.
