Conflicting excuses are unbelievable

The interuptions of water and electricity in Quellerina, Northcliff, Bergbron, Florida Glen, Florida, White Ridge, Florida Hills and Delarey has become the norm, rather than the exception over the last 24 months.

These outages have lasted as long as 10 days on occasion and the excuses are normally cable theft. The residents, however have figured out that the real issue is lack of maintenance, shortages of spares, no budget and unqualified technicians used to do the repairs.

The current problem was known to COJ staff for a number of months already, but not repaired until the Florida Glen substation exploded in flames last night. Now as a result of no electricity the water supply pump station is unable to operate, leaving the tax paying residents of these areas in a quandary. Just think of the thousands of Rands being wasted through non functioning fridges and freezers.

Perhaps the COJ fat cats do not realise the wastage of meat, fish, vegetables and fruit. All this happening in the middle of winter, causing untold misery to the many sick and elderly people living in these suburbs. In any event, the COJ is all about telling fibs to complainants. The conflicting excuses produced by the Call Center is simply unbelievable.
