As a local resident who lives just a block away from the Virgin Active in Horizon View, I’m repeatedly woken up by the volume of their early-morning workout sessions. Sometimes from as early as 5am, the loud music they play (along with the shrieking from their drill instructor trainers) is a public disturbance.

I have phoned them to complain, and are then reassured that they’ll do something about it – which they rarely do. However, they then start up again at the same time a week (or in most cases just a day) later. This has been going on for what seems like several years now. While I understand that they’re running a business, it is still located in a residential area and I’m sure few people appreciate their early-morning cacophony.

They seem to have little regard for the residents, or else they could have installed soundproofing or simply lowered the volume. It’s gotten so bad that I’m considering contacting the police and seeing if it qualifies as a public disturbance.

Nothing is being done about this and help resolve this problem.
