I just received my weekly copy of the Record and after your story on page 2 about the antics of Pikitup I decided to communicate to you their antics in my suburb.

We all had to suffer over that long strike they had a little while back. It was nice when private firms were used to pick up our rubbish and when we heard that the strik was over, we thought everything would return to normal.

Very much to our dismay things are still the same in our suburb. Both Eeufees Street and Riethaan Street, which run alongside the Hamerkop Bird Sanctuary in Florida Lake, has not been touched in terms of waste collection since then.

I have seen Pikitup trucks on two occasions; turning left from Golf Club Terrace into Golman Street and turning left from Clarendon Drive into Golf Club Terrace. Apart from these occasions there has been no other sightings or sounds of any further Pikitup vehicles in the area. Why have the two above-mentioned streets been left out since then? An explanation from Pikitup would be nice.
