Joburg is a nightmare

When will Joburg water ever do the right thing?

First of all, if there is something to be thankful for, sure thanks, however due to my list that follows, please tell me whether I should still be thankful?

Pikitup is paid through our rates and taxes and every Monday I end up going out on my pavement and road to pick up all the mess these people leave behind. Not to mention the way they damage the bins by throwing them back on the site we so carefully put out.

City Power is also a nightmare. I was billed R26 000 after a smart meter was installed for me and I was given a letter glued to my front gate informing me about my bill. How embarrassing.

After selling one of our cars to pay for our smart meter bill, my husband (a pensioner) and I (who cannot work due to arthritis), had to pay the bill because nobody could contribute to our expenses. I was also told by City Power they would cut off my electricity. I have two children at home

On 14 September I paid for a smart corrupt metre to be coded on prepaid and until today it has not been done. Who took the money I paid?

I went four times to the Roodepoort Civic Centre to fix it and three times to Booysens City Power and still nothing has been done. Not to mention how many times we have been through load shedding, Eventually I had to buy a new fridge because it faulted out from on and off.

When will Joburg water ever do the right thing by letting people know days before they decide to turn off our water?

As for the roads, there are potholes everywhere and the robots aren’t working.

Trust me, I am thankful for many things but as far as I’m concerned Joburg has given me nothing to be thankful for. I don’t even have a comment for SAPS.

And the SPCA? I reported to them four times about dogs being caged in the hot sun, rain, crackers and living in the feces.Their food just thrown into the dog mess and they don’t have bowls, etc. Up until today, nothing has been done about it, it’s disgusting!

Joburg is a nightmare. In the Western Cape you are treated civilly, equally and promptly. There is no corruption.
