Do you have the balls to publish this?

Emlyn Evans from Davidsonville writes: I am not sure who feeds you the propaganda to publish such sensationalist articles. Is it targeted to fuel the “majority” of the population who shows disinterest in a previously “white” marginalized and owned paper as we all know the history of Roodepoort as one of the capital driving sub-cities of the apartheid government. …

I am not sure who feeds you the propaganda to publish such sensationalist articles. Is it targeted to fuel the “majority” of the population who shows disinterest in a previously “white” marginalized and owned paper as we all know the history of Roodepoort as one of the capital driving sub-cities of the apartheid government. Our “black” community won’t buy or show interest in your paper even when you try to belittle and misinterpret the people of the Davidsonville community by jumping on the bandwagon of claiming that we as Davidsonville want a coloured principal vs a black principal.

Deal with the facts; but then again, media is never meant to deal with the truth, and as history repeats itself, you fall in the same trap of spreading a misunderstanding and illinformed public opinion by virtue of using your platform (media) to access people who believe all they read.

Tell me, what do you stand to gain by reporting such horse sh*t? These are the facts; let’s see if you have the balls to print them; or whether winning favour with the ANC electorates and trophy appointments is your call of duty:

1. The principle that we want appointed can be of any race.

2. The argument is that an acting “coloured” principle was unfairly sidelined as the appointees who selected the current principal accepted bribes to appoint her.

3. The current principal was dismissed from her previous post due to maladministration of school funds. In other words: She stole the money and used it for personal gain, was found out and dismissed. Fact.

4. She was appointed here as the order of the day of our current government – steal here as MEC or minister, get reappointed in another portfolio within the same hierarchy.

5. Davidsonville school fund as at R400 000 plus before her arrival; it is currently at R0 with no credible record of what happened to the funds.

6. An investigation / audit was done by KPMG. Nothing irregular was found; obviously? It was a government appointed audit team. It’s like: writing the exam and marking your own paper – you will always end up giving yourself 100%.

7. The appointment of teachers: – teachers were appointed at the school who have fake credentials. The evidence is in the fact that our kids in grade 7 can’t read an English book meant for grade 4’s. – evidence of accepting bribery to appoint teacher.

8. Student space: evidence of accepting bribes to secure a space for a student.

9. How will we ever win or prove our case; because these are real issues. We won’t win because we are labelled as racists – by being painted by the likes of you that we don’t want a black principle or black students at our school.

10. Let me state it clearly and irrevocably: We are for education. Any pupil is welcome.

11. But let me state something else: There will be no normal school in an abnormal society.

12. Our society, our community has been corrupted by these placement and bribery. And these are the real issues. Let’s see if you’ll print this. Or remain to hide behind you sensationalist reporting. For all the years of struggle for freedom of the press – to have you print such rubbish. You should be ashamed. What a waste of struggle. What a waste of lives. What a waste of freedom.
