I could not agree more with Mpho Manyikana. It is time that the police took control of the situation. The taxis are a law unto themselves. They pass on the left, they overtake on solid white lines and then just stop anywhere for their  passengers to alight.

They are breaking every rule in the book. When they are looking for passengers they crawl along. I also have yet to see a taxi driver wearing a seat belt and I thought that was law.

A taxi rank was built at Westgate, but they make their own taxi ranks all over the place and even park in the access road from Crane onto Ontdekkers Road.
