We are not involved

I have just received the latest copy of the Roodepoort Record and have read an item under the Don’t Miss It column.

This has to do with the request by a Mr B Folley in respect of an appeal for stamps for charity.

It is true that Mr Folley is a member of the West Rand Philatelic Society, but I would like it to be made know, through your newspaper, that the West Rand Philatelic Society is not involved in collecting stamps for charity and with using the name of the society, that will give the impression that we support what he is doing. We do not know what charity he supports.

I submit this as the chairman of the West Rand Philatelic Society with the approval of the committee.
