Empty promises

Promises and more promises that is all we receive from council and councillors.I want to know where is the ombudsman that was promised to us long long ago. What has happened to the mayors much vaunted Plus 10 initiative. Shortly we the Public will be called upon to vote once more,

I think that in the absence of accountability and transparency and even handed treatment for residents and ratepayers. I think that under the present circumstances with our hands tied behind our back it is just an act of futility.

Councillors’ are not accountable and are shielded by the parties they represent. Chaos and anarchy are allowed to run rampant. Please somebody tell me what you think should be done.? I have lived in the CBD of Roodepoort for many years. I see only decline degradation lawlessness and apathy. What was once a clean functional Town has denigrated into a cess pool.

Urinating in Public and in the streets are common place. Police officers close their eyes to breaches of the law. Noise pollution by liquor outlets go on unabated until the early hours of the morning. Bye laws are not enforced Dumping of Food stuffs and kitchen slops by street traders in Municipal sewers is an everyday occurrence. Something needs to be done. We need to heal and correct these wrongs even one step at a time.
