Are protesters just waiting to take over?

Ivan Haylock (email):

It’s not just motorists who are at risk. This is a well-established suburb. Some of the families on South Road in Lindhaven have been “forced” to vacate their properties for fear of their safety.

Protesters greedily watch on as we packed our valuables into our cars. The police can not guarantee that our homes will be free from squatters when we return! Private residences have been vandalised with either petrol bombs or bricks. One housebreaking already has been confirmed.

The telephone cables have been cut and trees have blocked access to main roads.

My question is, will it take a person to die before the army is called in?

According to the councillor the ANC Housing MMC promised the protesters that their free housing will start being built in two days!! This is a complete lie and certainly does not help calm the situation. In South Africa the responsible and working class must not only meet its basic needs but pay the bill for the government’s impotence and incompetence.

A big thank you to Captain du Plessis (Roodepoort SAPS) for his efforts.
