Farm fresh learning

Crawford learners embarked on a fun-filled adventure with their furry friends from the Children's Farm.

The Grade 00s at Crawford International Ruimsig embarked on a hands-on, exciting journey to explore the diets of farm animals.

According to marketing director Lindsay van Boven, the learners participated in interactive sorting activities where they learned which animals enjoy different types of food, from hay and grass to grains, plants, fruits and veggies.

Their excitement reached new heights with a special visit from the Children’s Farm, where they had the opportunity to feed and pet the goats and sheep, watch playful pigs and observe chickens pecking at grains, while some went horseback riding and touching their first turtle.

“This was a wonderful experience for the learners, and it not only deepened their understanding of farm animals’ diets but also helped develop essential skills in classification, critical thinking and compassion for living creatures,” Lindsay said.
