Full circle at King’s School West Rand

One of the King's School West Rand's very first matriculants sees her daughter writing her matric at the same school 25 years later.

The King’s School West Rand achieved yet another significant milestone this year.

Megan Birch wrote her matric as part of the very first Grade 12 class at The King’s School West Rand 25 years ago. This year, her daughter Tanith Walker, will be writing her matric exams in the very same hall.

According to the school’s marketing and admissions officer, Michelle dos Ramos, the moment is made even more special in that teacher Nicolene le Roux, who prayed with Birch during her matric year in 1999, shared the privilege of prayer with both mother and daughter on August 11.

Nicolene taught both mother and daughter 25 years apart.

“We’re honoured to have been a part of their educational journey and can’t wait to see the amazing things Tanith will achieve,” says Michelle.

“Congratulations to our matriculants and thank you to our dedicated teachers who have been a constant source of guidance and support.”
