Cheerful faces for the first day of school

Gr 1 learners were excited to start their first day at Agape Christian School.

Every year on the first day of school for Grade Ones, budding academic careers across the country take off.

On Wednesday morning, January 17, parents nationwide drove their children off to school after a well-earned break.

“We love to see our little ones begin their school year, excited to make new friends,” Pam Oppermann, their Grade One teacher mentioned. The Agape Christian School Grade One learners were no strangers to showing their little eager faces. For those who were beginning their school journey, it was a new experience, but for those who were returning, there were familiar faces.

The little ones had the opportunity to all sit together and be arranged into classrooms. They had the chance to get to know their classmates and teachers by introducing themselves. Their teachers gave them some books and some toys to assist with bonding and team-building. Two learners could not contain their joy as they had already lifted their books to start learning how to read while gushing over the colourful pictures.

Numerous parents mentioned how their children co-operated when getting ready for school since they were eager for them to start. The first term started and they are already on the move with their curriculum of teaching the learners how to read and pronounce words and letters.
