Roodies celebrate coach and learner

A local high school expressed their pride in both their athletics coach and a Grade 12 learner.

Hoërskool Roodepoort has much to celebrate as one of their coaches was awarded the Best Sport Coach of the Year award and one of their learners received a job opportunity after doing his practical at a local business.

Levarno Rankoe, the school’s athletics organiser and one of their coaches, attended the Johannesburg West District Awards on December 4, where he walked away the proud owner of the award for the Best Sport Coach of the Year.

“This a great honour for our school and we are very proud of him!” said Jauné van Aardt, from the school.

Aside from this achievement, matriculant Wakid Peck did his mechanical and civil technology practical assignment at Tyremart in Allen’s Nek. He was able to build experience and afterward, he was given a full-time job opportunity. To thank the business, teacher Andreas Spies, handed the manager, Casper Labuscagne, a gift.
