West Ridge High School scores an 87,9 percent pass rate

“We wish them well in their future endeavours and we know they will be able to handle any challenges thrown in their paths.”

Many have come before them and many will still retread their footsteps, but the 2020 matrics of West Ridge High will have a unique story to tell.

Like all 2020 matrics, they struggled through unprecedented hardships, but no meaningful success comes without being tested. “West Ridge High School is very proud of our matric class of 2020. They managed to perform well considering the Covid-19 restrictions, and managed to pass with 87,9 per cent average. We wish them well in their future endeavours and we know they will be able to handle any challenges thrown in their paths,” said acting Principal Smit.

Outgoing headboy, Greatness Ikechukwu, led the school with aplomb, earning three distinctions. “I would like to thank West Ridge High School for all the support, assistance, confidence and faith of my teachers and the rest of the staff, ” said Greatness.

Friendship, comradery and unity are among the threads that kept the 2020 class together, as Greatness recounted. “My peers also provided a great deal of support as we were constantly motivating each other and are now reaping the reward of our diligence”.

“If not for God blessing me with such people I would not have been able to achieve three distinctions and end up in second position in the Top 10 achievers for the final exam. Matric truly is quite a demanding phase of life, though with the right mindset, focus, and readiness to make sacrifices anyone is able to succeed. Congratulations to all who currently made it to matric, and all the best for your results,” he concluded
