Eager individuals were invited to test their mental expertise in the first-ever Battle of the Brains hosted at Rusty Hook by The Feud Quiz on September 28.
The competition brought together two local quiz masters, Dayle Robyn of Riot Entertainment and Fraser Gilchrist, who handpicked their top players to represent them in the ultimate trivia challenge.
The stakes were high, with a grand prize of R5 000 sponsored by The Gr8 Escape, a premier escape room destination in Johannesburg. Additional sponsorships came from Aztech Design and Technology, Breakfast on Demand (919 FM) and Alter Egos Events.
“What I love most about this event is that it not only tested the participants’ knowledge but also supported a noble cause. Through generous donations from the participants, we raised R2 000 for Dog Town South Africa and Paws From Heaven in honour of World Rabies Day,” Dayle said.
After a fiercely competitive evening, the team that emerged victorious with an impressive score, The Gang, claimed the coveted title and the cash prize.
“It was a wonderful experience hosting this event because it shows the growing popularity of quiz culture in our community. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these very talented quizzers,” said Fraser.
