Community forum hosts successful spring walk and market
The Florida Hills Residents Forum held a market full of stalls, a shooting range, and jumping castles and had multiple prizes to be won.
On Saturday, September 14, the Florida Hills Residents Forum hosted a successful spring walk and market, starting the morning with a crisp walk around the park and up the mountain.
According to one of the organisers for the market, Lenadri du Plessis, volunteers maintained the park in the morning and enjoyed the scenic view and fresh air.
She says this day was community-driven and allowed businesses to showcase their work as well as charities.
After the spring walk, the market came to life with vibrant stalls, jumping castles, a shooting range and a soccer area for children. The South African National Blood Service’s presence also allowed attendees to donate and give back to the community.
Members of the fire department joined in, entertaining children by playfully splashing water at them, much to their delight.
