Empowering women in the community

Impact Africa hosts an event in honour of Woman's Day to educate and celebrate women.

Zandspruit — Impact Africa showed some heartwarming support to the women of Zandspruit when they recently hosted their Women’s Day event on August 7.

The event aimed to empower women in the community by providing them with valuable knowledge and resources to improve their lives. According to Impact Africa’s communications manager Robyn Lila Dhari, the non-profit organisation aimed at reaching out to predominantly the women of the community.

Different stakeholders were present to demonstrate their support by engaging in lucrative conversations and providing their services to those in need.

“The event saw about 164 women, young and old, who attended who were all able to find help. Whether it was through Impact Baby Rescue or our partners that joined, we were able to help these women gain knowledge on so many topics like gender-based violence, substance abuse, baby abandonment, unsafe and illegal abortions, street and fire safety, and medical conditions and guidance.

“Some of our team members got to pray for the women and hear some of the struggles they were going through; although this was not our aim, we also had 44 salvations and women who decided to give their lives to Jesus.

“The event was not just about education and raising awareness, but it was also about showing appreciation in celebration of Women’s Month,” Robyn said.

Each attendee received a hamper from Impact Africa with much-needed feminine essentials as a small token of their support.
