Full of flame for Mandela Day

FullFlame Life Church congregation members spent the evening of July 17 making hundreds of sandwiches for children in need.

Mandela Day is a big day for the congregation at FullFlame Life Church, as it presents yet another opportunity for them to spread their message of hope – and their good deeds – into communities in need.

The church grounds were a hive of activity on the eve of Mandela Day, as church members gathered in numbers to prepare for their project.

“We’ve decided that this year, we wanted to show support to a local school where young people are in desperate need,” says community outreach co-ordinator, Thato Phiri.

“We’ve been working with the school for some time and they are doing such good work educating the youth and instilling in them the skills and values they will need as they navigate their way to adulthood.

“Our congregation got together and spent the evening making hundreds of delicious sandwiches to be handed out at the school during our Mandela Day programme.”

The congregation made short work of the sandwich-making marathon with a well-oiled production line and many hands making light work.
