Community day a success

A local community store hosts a community day aimed at providing local entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase their products.

The Pick n Pay Wilro Park community day kicked off on July 6, and the store was transformed into a hub of activities, live music, a kids’ play area, and a variety of stalls to showcase local businesses.

According to store owner Michael Liontarides, this event aimed to bring the community together and provide a platform for local businesses to promote their products and services.

“Today is about the community and giving back what we can to them. All the stalls here entered for free. We collaborated with the Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch, police and local security companies to offer the community a day not only filled with fun activities but also some valuable information. We are all trying to raise awareness about the shortage of blood supplies during the winter, and that’s why we also invited the National Blood Services,” Michael said.

The stalls, set up by local entrepreneurs, offered a range of products, from handmade crafts to delicious baked goods.

As the day drew to a close, the store manager beamed with pride, grateful for the overwhelming support from the community.
