Organisation shows care by donating to a local crèche

Organisation receives an early childhood development donation from Silverstar and the Hot Cares family.

Givers Gift, which is a non-profit organisation dedicated to eradicating poverty and improving the lives of disadvantaged children in Fleurhof, mainly in early childhood development (ECD) centres, has received a significant boost from Silverstar and the Hot Cares family under HOT1027 FM.

This heartwarming donation includes tables, chairs, educational posters, a reading corner carpet, blankets, educational toys, and other resources, and it was donated to one of the crèches operating in the area.

The crèche is currently serving about 30 children from newborns to six years old and is in dire need of resources to enhance its reading and literacy room. To address this, Hot Cares, in alignment with its mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the greater community, reached out to Silverstar for assistance. Silverstar generously responded by donating essential items valued at R12 000.

Founder and organiser of the organisation, Gail Heslop, says these contributions will significantly improve the learning environment, foster a love for reading, improve literacy rates, and contribute to a better educational experience for the children of the creche.

This organisation started just a year ago but has made a significant impact on many of the ECD’s centres, youth development programmes, and other social upliftment issues. Their mission is to provide a clear pathway for young people by addressing critical needs within the local community.

“I have always been passionate about the development of young children, from the age of three months to 16 years. Usually, for the crèches, we accept donations like formulas, nappies, toys, food, and blankets to keep them warm during the day.”

Gail would like to appeal to the community to assist with library books for a local primary school she’s supporting and many of the ECD centres in the area.
