Donation makes afterschool programme strive

The afterschool programme receives a corporate boost.

Mofuthu Wa Lerato founder Queen Seepe is determined to continue making a difference in the young growing minds in the area.

Situated in Florida, the organisation serves to assist learners with homework, educate them about life skills, and help the greater community fight poverty.

Even though they currently have no facilities for their afterschool programme, the organisation strives for the best, and they recently received a donation of laminating and shredding machines and stationery such as arts and crafts glues.

“In South Africa, the statistics for children who cannot read for meaning are shocking. When this afterschool program was started, it was to assist learners, especially those in smaller grades. We provide a nurturing atmosphere where the children can receive homework assistance playfully and engagingly, mainly on weekends and school holidays,” Queen said.

Queen added that by receiving this donation, their admin work and children’s work are going to be executed without hassle, which means they are going to reach their maximum pass rate with ease and the office is going to run smoothly throughout the year.

Queen is welcoming any donations to her head office at 18 Madeline Street, Florida.
