Pedestrian injured after collision with motorbike

Motorcycle collision leaves one person with life-threatening injuries.

One person was injured after a collision between a pedestrian and a motorcycle on Tuesday night, April 9 in Roodepoort North on 4th Street.

According to Emergency Control SA (ECSA) spokesperson Ian Janse van Rensburg, this crash happened around 19:30 and says that upon their arrival, they established that a pedestrian was struck by a motorcyclist.

“Unfortunately, we can’t confirm what caused the accident, but the patient was transported to Leratong Hospital and the motorcyclist had minor injuries,” he said.

ECSA and the Johannesburg Metro Police Department monitored the scene, and Netcare 911 arrived to treat the motorcyclist.
