Clearwater Shavathon a huge success
The girls from St Catharine's Convent once again partnered with the Wilro Lions Club for the annual Cansa Shavathon at Clearwater Mall.
Clearwater Mall on Saturday morning was filled to the brim with people sporting funny and funky hair colours and close shaves.
The young girls from St Catherine’s Convent once again partnered with Cansa and the Wilro Lions Club for the annual Cansa Shavathon to raise money for cancer fighters. This is an annual event and this year the theme was Be Colourfully Kind.
Mallgoers, with a little convincing from the St Catherine’s girls, took to the event with gusto and in the process raised a lot of much-needed funds for the cause.
According to Ester Pretorius from Cansa, who undertakes this event every year, the turnout was fantastic.
“I am so impressed by the young ladies from St Catherine’s Convent, and the energy they bring to this very worthy cause. They stepped up to the plate and rallied a lot of support. Mallgoers were lining up to have their hair either sprayed with some very interesting colours and patterns or for a close crop.”
