With a wonderful start to the month of love, the Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital wanted to showcase their love with a twist by hosting their pregnancy week awareness event on February 15 for new mothers, women who would like to start planning for pregnancy and pregnant women. A variety of specialists had a chance to share light and educate the mommies about experiences they encounter during their pregnancy journey as well as how to handle the responsibilities that come with having a newborn.
“What I always say to moms is that there are a lot of people involved in their pregnancy journey and it is always best to not listen to everyone because you will be overwhelmed. Take advice from the experts, take what helps and do not be afraid to ask for help then your pregnancy will go smoothly,” Landsa Erasmus, the unit manager of Wilgeheuwel Hospital encourages the mommies.

Doctors, nurses, antenatal specialists and unit managers each spoke to the mommies to reassure them that all the facilities they provide will cater to their needs and especially the needs of the child while educating them on their specialties in the maternity department. Mommies could ask questions that they are curious about to ease their consciousness about their pregnancy journey as well as get a one-on-one discussion with experts. A surprise visit from Zebbie from Dis-Chem Baby City with his warm and hearty energy brought joy to the mommies by gifting them with goodie bags.
