Matla A Bana hosts annual report for stakeholders and role players

Without support from volunteers and stakeholders, the organisation wouldn't be able to keep doing its good work.

Matla A Bana (MAB) hosted their annual report on February 9.

Matla A Bana is a national non-profit charity organisation focusing on supporting children who report rape and abuse against them.

Lizel van Eeden, the project manager for MAB, explained they give stakeholders and partners an overview of what they did throughout the year and show them how their money is being used to the benefit of others.

“It shows the role players how important the work is we are doing and how necessary their support is for this cause,” said Lizel.

During the year they had numerous projects including training with 12 training modules and two debriefing sessions. They further had their Comfort Pack Project where they handed out almost 3 500 packs to mostly small children aged between five to eight years and medium-sized for ages nine to 12 years, as explained by MAB founder, Monique Strydom, during her presentation. She continued that during the 2022/ 2023 financial year, a total of 38 child-friendly reporting facilities were implemented in all provinces except for KZN and the Free State.

They further had numerous unique projects all to the benefit of gender-based violence victims.

Professor Corne Davis, one of the trustees of MAB, was the guest speaker.

They then concluded by thanking every person for their contribution to the cause, as without them it wouldn’t have been possible.
