Join the Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch for their fourth annual Christmas Market

The Roodekrans community comes together during the festive season at their annual market.

Join the local neighbourhood watch at their annual Christmas market to be held on December 9 from 9:30 to 21:00. The market will take place at 106 Wilde Amandel Avenue.

The Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch (RNW) has held three markets in the past and plans on holding them every year in December.

“It is beautiful, the way our community comes together to support our local vendors. The funding goes to keeping our doors open, we are an NPC and rely on our members to to pay their membership fees for us to keep doing what we do,” explained Kirsty Long from RNW.

The RNW works alongside the Sugarbush Ridge Coalition and the South African Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre to ensure that local wildlife is protected through conservation.

This year they have some exciting things lined up for those attending.

“We organise a colorful walk that engages the local community in strolling along a few of our neighborhood’s streets. To add even more festive spirit to the stroll, students will also receive a packet of color powder that they can hurl at themselves or each other,” she exclaimed, “It costs R10 per entry, then we have Santa who will be arriving to listen to all the children as they give him their wish-lists for Christmas. Later on in the evening, we will have Christmas Carols which will be sung live by our chairperson, Andreas Oberlechner, and Celtic Blue.”

There will be a fun dog show done by the K9 Unit from Help24 Secure and a variety of different small businesses showcasing their crafts and creations till late in the afternoon.

The RNW also encourages the community to donate items for dogs, cats, and children when they attend the Christmas Market.
