Delighted donors participate in blood drive to help save lives

Local NPO hosted a successful blood drive for its employees which is the fourth and final blood drive for the year.

Another successful blood drive by 100Percent Foundation in Flora Centre on November 2 saw staff members of Affinity Health in partnership with SANBS donating blood in a bid to raise awareness on the importance of saving lives.

100Percent Foundation prides itself in involvement with various community projects and focuses on skills development within the community, and the blood drive was a project for some of its employees.

According to Matamela Nemaungani who is the development and project co-ordinator of 100Percent, the purpose of this blood drive was for its staff to be aware of their health and be part of something greater, as giving is a spirit of the community.

The blood drive was a great success as it had achieved more than the set target which was to collect 20 units of blood and pass by 10 more units.

The Roodepoort Record spoke to some of the donors who cited that they donate blood to help those who need it the most and said that if they could give more, they would, however, donating, is a way to help.
