Flooding, damaging winds and hail for Gauteng – warns SAWS

Although most have welcomed the rain with open arms, caution needs to be taken.

Gauteng residents are warned to be prepared for a wet day due to severe thunderstorms.

According to Gauteng Weather’s post on X (formerly known as Twitter), they said that The South African Weather Service issued a statement of severe thunderstorms for the entire Gauteng, today, November 7.

They further stated that potential threats include hail, damaging winds, heavy downpours and localised flooding.

The South African Weather Service posted on their Facebook page that the weather for today includes isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers over the central and eastern parts of the country, but widespread over the south-eastern parts of The North-West, both southern parts of Gauteng and Mpumalanga, Eastern Free State and KZN. Isolated showers and rain are also expected along the southwest and south coasts of the Western Cape.
