Eskom to implement new load-shedding schedules

Eskom and City Power recently embarked on a mission to implement changes to load-shedding schedules.

Following an announcement in a media statement on November 7, it has been confirmed that Eskom has implemented new load-shedding blocks and schedules for all customers, including municipal ones.

This change comes after Eskom handed over load-shedding operations to City Power for most areas of supply.

The change affects all Eskom and municipal customers directly by the power utility in Gauteng.

City Power said they will continue load-shedding in certain areas due to network configuration and technical complexities.

Both entities are committed to ensuring supply security and complying with distribution licensing conditions and said they aim to reduce load requirements throughout load-shedding stages to protect the national grid’s integrity.

The revised blocks and schedules are available for Eskom customers at www.eskom.co.za.
