Molepi Rising Stars holds walk in support of Springboks

The Roodepoort Primary School held a walk to show their support for the Springboks who played in the Rugby World Cup final on October 28.

Molepi Rising Stars Pre- and Primary School held a pre-final walk on October 27 to show their support for the Springboks to bring home the William Web Ellis Cup.

The almost 200 learners were excited to be able to participate in the walk and the vibe was generally ecstatic.

According to the principal Thabo Nkosi, the children have been looking forward to this event. “It was basically as a way to encourage team building and support for our national rugby team,” he said.

Molepi Rising Stars opened its doors in January 2013. As an education specialist in early childhood development (ECD), the principal of the centre served the Department of Education in this field with success from 1999 to 2012, when she decided to start her own ECD centre.

“We use the Department of Education’s core curriculum [CAPS]. Our aim at Molepi Rising Stars is to continue to equip our children to strive to shine towards excellence in life,” Thabo said.

The walk was attended by members from JMPD and Roodepoort police.
