Roodepark School’s cross country learners impress at National Championships

The learners walked away with impressive achievements, some even with bronze and silver medals.

During the October school holidays, the cross-country learners from Roodepark School participated in the national championships.

They walked away with the gold medal at the Gauteng Learners Special Education Needs (LSEN) National Championships and came in second at the overall competition, including the LSEN and Mainstream Championships.

Individually Katlego Kwhaza received bronze for the boys U14, Delano Louw received silver for the boys U15, and Malikah Hendricks received silver for the girls U16.

In the girls’ championships, Ayanda Nokwe received fourth place while Sheira Smith came in ninth, Palesa Metseeme came in 18th, Phindulo Negukula came 25th, Neo Mosinki in the 20th place and Alice Molea in the seventh.

Of the boys Owen Ndlovu came in fifth, Delrin Daniels in 17th place, Keanan Haarhoff in 30th, and Katlego Gamede in the 25th place.

All the learners received team medals.
