Appeal to help find missing Louis the Ragdoll cat

Beloved Ragdoll cat went missing in Georginia on September 5.

A beautiful three-year-old Ragdoll cat named Louis went missing on September 5 after he was adopted into a new home in Georginia only three days earlier.

Louis’ previous owners Elsabé and Bertus Blignaut are heartbroken after finding out he snuck out of his new home through an open window on that Tuesday evening.

“We have had Louis for almost two years and he has become such a big part of our family, but we are in the process of relocating to a smaller residence. Our four other cats are all very old, with one being 18 years old, and we thought because Louis is still young he deserved a life with a younger owner who could keep him throughout his life,” explained Bertus, adding that their children would take in their four older furbabies when the time comes.

Bertus continued saying that they suspect Louis went out of the house along with one of his new owner’s cats and while that cat came home a few days later, Louis did not.

“As we understand the other cat was injured and had to get stitches – this made us worry as the two went out together, what if Louis got hurt as well?” he questioned.

“We live in Helderkruin, so it is quite a distance from his new home. We are scared he got out and tried to find his way back home to us, but with almost 20km separating our home and Georginia – he must have gotten lost,” said Elsabé.

The couple and his new owner have since put up missing posters and contacted the nearby vets in hopes of finding him. “He is spayed, microchipped and very friendly,” added Bertus.

True to the breed, Louis is a curious and friendly cat who loves to be close to his humans characterised as being similar to a dog in that manner.

“We had quite the bond and he would follow me everywhere I went,” shared Bertus, saddened by the thought that Louis might be somewhere alone and hungry.

“Please help us find him. We just want to know he is safe and loved,” begged Elsabé, adding that they are offering a reward for any information that could help reunite him with them and his owner.

If you have any information about Louis’s whereabouts or well-being contact Bertus on 083 320 4041.
