Crawford Ruimsig sports intern inspires ball donation to Randfontein school

Ruimsig sports intern gives back by donating sports equipment to school in Randfontein.

Crawford International Ruimsig made a heartfelt donation to FJL Wells Primary Mine Government School in Randfontein on July 20.

The donation consisted of sporting equipment to enhance the learners’ physical activities. According to Lindsay van Boven from Crawford, the donation included netball balls, rugby balls, soccer balls, and some sports bags.

“The idea for this thoughtful gesture came from Amogelang Mokobane, our sports intern, who had previously worked as an educator assistant at the same school. During his time there, he actively assisted with sports activities and couldn’t help but notice the severe shortage of sporting equipment. The school had to make do with just a few balls for the entire student body throughout the year, and unfortunately, they couldn’t afford to purchase new ones for their teams,” explained Lindsay.

She went on to say that the impact of this donation was profound.

“The staff and learners were genuinely surprised and overwhelmed with gratitude. It is through Amogelang’s keen observation and compassionate spirit that this donation became a reality, making a positive difference in the lives of countless learners,” elaborated Lindsay, “Thank you to Amo and the entire sports department, for recognising the needs of the community and seizing the opportunity to enrich the lives of these learners on behalf of Crawford International Ruimsig. Thank you Uncle Kenneth for driving our team to Randfontein safely!”
