Just in Time Baby Sanctuary enjoy Mandela Day

With the support of two different organisations, the children of Just In Time spent Mandela Day playing games and having fun.

Just In Time Baby Sanctuary celebrated Mandela Day with fun and laughter.

On July 18, two separate organisations reached out to the sanctuary to brighten up the children’s day. The Durapi Consulting group brought activities for the children, including face painting and a jumping castle. They also had some meals and goody bags for the children and adults.

Thaven Naidoo, one of their directors explained they have a few beneficiaries they support, however, they wanted to reach outside their usual areas of beneficiaries which is when they came across Just In Time.

“The kind of value that they’re adding to the community is immeasurable. So we felt it is important for us to get involved so we got a team to come and spread some joy around their world,” said Thaven.

The other organisation came through to the sanctuary as part of their team’s team-building exercise. Gretchen Veldtman, one of the team members, explained she believes Mandela Day is an opportunity to ‘make a difference in the lives of others’. She went on to say the sanctuary ‘touched our hearts in so many ways’ and they decided as a group they wanted to reach out and collect donations to gift the sanctuary.

“I think Nelson Mandela has demonstrated to us what it is to give some time and I think all he wanted from us was 67 minutes today, we’re giving more than that today, and that’s really why we are here,” added Gretchen.

Georgina Caetano, founder of the sanctuary said she is very grateful for all the donations.
