EARTH Centre needs more volunteers

No previous experience is necessary as ongoing training is provided.

Join the wonderful group of volunteers at The EARTH Centre on Peter Road who help assist the riders during their weekly therapy riding lessons.

Volunteers will either sidewalk the rider (physically support, encourage and assist, depending on the degree of disability), or lead and be responsible for the horse. No previous experience is necessary as ongoing training is provided.

Interested parties are encouraged to join the centre for a morning of training on July 11 or 12 from 09:00 to 12:00. Attendees should wear closed shoes, a hat and sunblock. The EARTH Centre will provide the rest!

The EARTH Centre is a non-profit company that provides therapeutic riding to nearly 200 disabled children, many of whom are from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“We can’t do the wonderful work we do without our dedicated team of volunteers,” Megan Gouws of the centre said.

Community members interested in becoming volunteers can confirm their attendance with Megan at 072 220 4604.
