Ira’s back with another donation challenge!

"Let's be their voice and help feed 1 100 hungry dogs and cats."

Welties’ (Soup)er primary school learner with a big heart has officially started her charity drive benefiting Community Led Animal Welfare (Claw).

Ira Ramahdan (9) is appealing to the community to donate 1 100 cans of pet food in honour of her 10th birthday.

Ira wrote the following letter to her community:

“I hope you are having a (soup)er day right now. Wait! Did I just say souper? Well, we know what souper means. It means Souper Ira is back!
I thought all about helping feed people. Then I thought about their pets. They didn’t get anything for their tummies. How does a dog drink soup?
Hmmm … Oh! I got an idea! Why can’t I collect pet food? I want to collect 1 100 cans/ sachets of pet food for cats, dogs and other animals.
It is called: The Ira’s Pet Food Challenge. All of our donations are going to Claw which is an NPO that takes care of animals in need. Claw takes care of homeless animals and provides free vet treatments and pet food for cats and dogs in poor communities. Yes everyone, doggies and kitties also suffer from starvation.
Let’s be their voice and help feed 1 100 hungry dogs and cats. My wish for my 10th birthday is to reach my target. I will donate 21 cans/ sachets of dog and cat food to Claw. I know you will help me with this project because Weltevreden Park is an awesome community that cares for everyone including fur babies. You are welcome to drop off donations at the Roodepoort Northsider’s offices in Witpoortjie or the Weltevreden Park Library. Thank you for your support!”
