Brave and inquisitive Grade 2 learners from Crawford International Ruimsig tried out Mopani worms for the first time during a school outing.
As part of the school’s Unit of Inquiry on ‘where we are in place and time’, the learners visited the Lesedi Cultural Village located within the Cradle of Humankind.
“The objective of the outing was to investigate how family histories connect the past with the present,” elaborated Lindsay van Boven from Crawford.
The learners had the opportunity to participate in various cultural activities, such as playing traditional drums, incredible dancing, touring the different cultural villages and even trying out Mopani worms.
“The experience left us with a feeling of Ubuntu, truly understanding what makes South Africa the Rainbow Nation!” concluded Lindsay.
