High schoolers create non-profit aimed at positive change for women

She is Power is prioritising orphanages and homes that require financial support.

She is Power is a non-profit organisation founded in 2020 by two passionate high school girls, Nhlakanipho Mazibuko and Asanda Macozoma. The organisation aims to address various issues in the community, with the primary focus being to end period poverty among young girls and women.

The founders of She is Power identified that many girls are unable to attend school due to a lack of access to menstrual products. Some even resort to using unsanitary alternatives like clothes. As a result, the organisation seeks to provide pads through donations to those in need.

Currently, She is Power is prioritising orphanages and homes that require financial support. To achieve its goal, the organisation needs sponsors and individuals willing to contribute regularly. They encourage people to consider donating a pad per month to support their cause.

More than just the provision of menstrual products, She is Power wants to instill positive values, confidence, and happiness in the lives of those they help. This way, they can put a smile on the faces of those they support while contributing to building and restoring dignity among women in their community.
